The EAMHID congress is a biennial European gathering targeting academics, professionals, parents, and individuals with disabilities interested in mental health issues among persons with disabilities.
The congress is organized by EAMHID, Konekt, Broeders van Liefde, and Arfie.

Our aim is to make the congress inclusive: individuals with disabilities will actively participate in all aspects of the congress, from preparation to the event itself. This is possible as a volunteer. Check out the different roles >

During the congress, attendees can participate in numerous inspiring workshops and symposia. Good practices from around the world and the latest findings from the field will be presented. We can confirm the presence of the following speakers:

  • Ruth Luckasson
  • Tony Ward
  • Noelle Blackman
  • Myriam Hufen
  • Peter Vermeulen

Under the motto nothing about us without us we will provide compelling testimonies, experiences, and lectures from individuals with disabilities. We can already confirm the presence of Glorian Verneert.

The following themes will be highlighted during the congress:

  • children
  • emotional development
  • de-institutionalization & community care
  • autism & ADHD
  • forensic care

Welcome to Ghent

Because Lonely Planet and National Geographic Traveler Magazine called our city Europe’s best kept secret and the most authentic historic city in the world.

Because you should at least once witness with your own eyes what Napoleon and the mysterious thief of “the Just Judges” panel already knew: The Mystic Lamb really is key to European art history.

Because Ghent is beer and food heaven.

Because the city comes to life again after sunset.

Because our venue, the International Congress Center ICC is located near the heart of the city and just a short distance away from the Castle of the Counts, the Cathedral, the UNESCO-protected Graslei and the Belfry.
